Tigers Lose Opening Shield Game
The Tassie Tigers started their Sheffield Shield season in dismal fashion, loosing to South Australia by 9 Wickets.
What is even more disappointing is that South Australia’s bowling attack was hampered by injuries in the second innings. Mark Cleary didn’t bowl at all due to a back injury and Chris Duvall was limited to ten overs suffering from a stomach strain.
The only shining light for the Tigers was a second innings dig of 90 by Captain George Bailey and Jason Kreja who bowled tight in the first innings and and was rewarded with a four wickets.
On Sunday the two teams clash in a one day game on Sunday. Ben Hilfenhaus and Tim Paine will play in this game that will be televised on FOX2 starting at 2pm.
