Tigers Final Fever

The whole state is in a fever over the Tigers making the Pura Cup final, well at least the cricket loving population, like myself. It’s a chance for the playing eleven to cement themselves in Tasmanian sporting history.
The Tigers will play New South Wales in the Cup final, at Bellerieve oval between March 19-23. They won the right to host the final by defeating NSW in the last game of the season by seven wickets.
If the Tigers win it will be the first time in Australian Cricket History that a Tasmanian side has won the longer domestic version of the game. But a team that boasts the like of Jaques, Thornley, McGill, Rohrer, and I am sure the inclusion of more (Katisch ?), will provide a strong challenge to a well oiled Tasmanian Side that shouldn’t expect an easy game like the recent encounter.

On the other side, Tassie boast the likes of the inform Di Venuto, the leading Pura Cup wicket taker Ben Hilfenhaus, stroke makers of the likes of Dighton, Birt and Bailey, backed up by a good bunch of young up and coming youngsters.
The whole Tasmanian team seems to be gelling and have the ability to create their own luck and to make the most of every opportunity that comes their way will put up a great fight and give some joy to every Tasmanian Cricket Lover.
Check out what others are saying about the upcoming Pura Cup final!
