And he didn’t let himself or his fans down by going on to win by unanimous points decision to claim the vacant IBF Pan-Pacific middleweight belt over his Brizillian opponent, Samir Barbosa.
“The man” Mundine also had it all his own way in his main event fight against Alejandro Gustavo Falliga from Argentina. The Argentine was totally outclassed as Mundine chased him to every corner of the ring.
The re-match which The International Boxing Organisation ordered Mundine to fight before February 27 or be stripped of the title he won from Geale was supposed to be held in Tasmania. But now Mundine’s manager Khoder Nasser has stated that his main job was to get the best deal for his client.

Inflicting Geale’s first professional loss.
The Geale camp then lodged an appeal citing various concerns with the fight, including the intimidation of a judge and time wasting. The IBO then order a rematch.
Mundine speaking at an Xbox game launch in Sydney along side Sugar Ray Leonard said;

He’s gonna get his whippin’, that’s for sure, sucker talkin’ about fighting me, he always runnin.

It’s money issues with him, Because I’m the cash cow, they want to get more than what they would get to the highest bidder out there.

Mundine also noted that Geal was Tasmanian and that the fight could be in Geale’s home state.
