Athletics Tasmania President Brian Roe stated:

In terms of competitor numbers this will be the largest track and field competition ever to be held in Tasmania, both in terms of numbers and in the complexity of its organisation.

Given the meet runs over four days the impact on the Tasmanian economy will be substantial, with some 4000 people expected to travel to the state’s capital.

The University are on board as sponsors and see it as an opportunity to showcase the University and the state to young people from all around Australia.

Each state & territory will be represented at the championship.
