Promote The Local Comps

I recently discovered that the AFL Southern Tasmania web site has taken the links to the Lindisfarne and the University football club off their site. I have since sent the email below to find out the reason for this and will post what feedback I get on this blog.
Dear Nathan or To Whom It May Concern,
I recently discovered with disappointment that the Lindisfarne football club link has been taken off the Southern Football League Links page.
Lindisfarne Football club has worked extremely hard in the last three years to change the club and its culture from a down and out club, not winning games to being very competitive and we see this web site as a part of the change.
I have not received any correspondence why this has happened and have come up with some points (I have also noted that the UNI link is gone):
AFL southern Tasmania is not interested in promoting the lower leagues and clubs in the state. (no wonder the clubs in these leagues struggle to find underage players. If it’s not the at the elite level i.e. Devil’s, then the association is not interested in working to promote it.)
OzVox design has banned websites created by Tasmanian web creators other than themselves, no matter if the web creator does this for a hobby.
The www.lfc.org.au website is in someway breaking rules or regulations.
I would have thought that AFL southern Tasmania would be trying to promote football at this level and I would appreciate it if you could contact me and clear up this issue.
If you require me to link back to the AFL southern Tasmania website let me know.
Regards,
Kaine Menzie.

  1. Hi Kaine
You’ll notice that the Lindisfarne link is now back on the SFL site. It has been since we were alerted to its removal.
Despite what it says on the site we do not look after the SFL website anymore and have not done so since the start of 2006.
The site is administered by AFL trainees with very little website design experience (if any).
I’d personally like to still be looking after it but they (the SFL) say they cannot afford it.

  2. Dan,

    Thanks for your comments.
I have noted that the link is back up, but without the logo. I have not worried about following up on this issue, as the link still works and I never recieved feedback from the initial corraspondance.
It’s a shame to see the SFL website in it’s current state. All the content comes from external sites.

    Thanks again for your comments.

    Regards Kaine.
