Lynch Law The only Way to Unite Tasmanian Footy

It's Time

The article below states some reasons on why a Tasmanian AFL team wont work and that maybe the likes of Lynch can bring the state together to support a side in the AFL.

I agree, the North/South rivalry is probably not constructive to gaining an AFL team and a state focus should be put on being one, especially towards this aim. Some sections are going to have to sacrifice.

York Park is arguably the best ground in Tasmania, and the southern contenders in North Hobart and Bellerive have their cons in the way of size and in the fact that the DOGOODERS that live near these stadiums are not prepared to allow the powers to be upgrade these sites into international stadiums.

The perfect spot for an all in one stadium in the south that could of been upgraded to accommodate international games of day/night Cricket and AFL football would of been the Glenorchy show grounds. Plenty of room and plenty of parking.

The first paragraph in the article by Bruce Walkley states:

I spent most of last week in Hobart. No, it wasn’t second prize in the pub raffle;

Is this the perception that we want from our mainland counterparts even ex-pats like Mr Walkley. This wont change until we be progressive and when it comes to AFL in Tasmania, it should start at venues and at the grass roots level. Get our kids playing the game again.

Bring back school footy.

Maybe Alastair Lynch would be better suited to a job at AFL Tasmania headquarters. I’m sure he would do a good job as a coach or as an administrator. Well better than what we have now or what we have had in the past (remember Mr Creswell).
